TikTok has become one of the best platforms for marketing your brand and with the platform on track to reach 1.5 billion monthly active users this year, it shows no sign of slowing down🔥

Unlike other social platforms, TikTok is a space where brands, businesses and creators can have fun, be their authentic selves, and try something new. So if you want to be successful on TikTok, you need to approach your content differently from how you do on other social platforms.

So, how exactly can you make sure that you nail your TikTok creative and drive results for your business? We attended TikTok’s ‘Get Creative with TikTok - Creative Tips for TikTok Success’ webinar and here are some of the key takeaways to help you level up your TikTok creative strategy👇

🔈Leverage the power of sound: Sound is a must on TikTok. Use sound as a creative tool, not a background filler and build your creative around the sound. Think about recontextualising lyrics or taking them literally in your ads. Also, make sure your video cuts sync up perfectly with your sound.

🔑Authenticity is key: Do NOT do a high-quality production, instead productions should have an amateur feel to them. Use real people - even something like having models with make-up on in the video can negatively impact your ads as it comes across as too curated. Keep your ads real and relatable, videos should be lighthearted and relaxed - native to the platform and look like anyone's filmed them. Try to use personal Stories where possible.

💬Overlay concise and informative text: Include text overlays to talk about your product. Keep the design like user-generated copy, not polished and keep the copy simple - black & white text works well. If you’re going caption heavy, try to keep the video creative super simple.

If you haven't experimented with TikTok yet, this is your sign to do so! The platform has come a long way since lip-syncing and dance trends and is now heavily influencing consumer buying behaviours.
